Adentan Demo Should be Replicated Across Northern Ghana.
People of Northern Ghana, have you seen what’s happening in Adentan? If we don’t come out in our numbers:
the Tamale-Yendi,
Chuchuliga,
Tamale-Salaga,
Wa-Tumu,
Nandom-Hamile,
Salaga-Kpandai,
Yendi-Bimbilla,
Gushegu-Karaga,
Sawla-Tuna-Wa,
Nalerigu-Nakpanduri-Bunkpurugu,
Savelugu-Nanton-Gushegu,
Savelugu-Tolon-Kumbungu,
Walewale-Kpasenkpe,
Tolon-Daboya,
Damongo-Daboya,
Yendi-Saboba,
Yendi-Zabzugu-Tatali,
Tatali-Togo roads, etc will remain like that till we all die.
I dare say that, less than 30% of all the roads in Northern Ghana (Upper West, Upper East & Northern Region) are tarred. Our self-seeking and self-centered MPs have Nissan Patrol & Toyota Land cruiser V8 vehicles which makes traveling on these killer roads comfortable for them and so they don’t care. Because of the bad nature of roads, no ambulance can last beyond 6 months. But because our political leaders don’t reason beyond their noses, they keep buying ambulance vehicles for our district hospitals and refuse to tar the roads on which the ambulance vehicles are supposed to use.
Our chiefs can’t even lead us anymore. They have become more partisan than even the politicians. We don’t have good drinking water, no properly build hospitals and schools. Even where we have such facilities, they are poorly equipped because none of selfish politicians patronise them when they’re sick or when they want to enroll their children in school. When we vote for them, they forget about us until the next election. This is because we like matters of chieftaincy and religion which they use to get our votes. Chief, haven’t you realized that your people are increasingly becoming poorer and poorer and dieing of preventable diseases? After all of your kith and kin have all died, who will call you chief again in that community? For how long will you continue to accept pick up and V8 vehicles from our self-seeking politicians and pretend that your people or community need good roads, hospitals, schools, electricity, telecommunication and markets, etc? Can’t you learn from the Asantehene who is a global icon?
Fellow Northern citizens, please let’s arise and demand for what we’re entitled to or perish one by one just like the lack of footbridges is claiming the lives of residents of Adentan one by one.
