MTN Ghana Presents Gift Hampers to Christmas Day Babies Born in TTH

Tamale, Ghana – MTN Ghana has presented gift hampers to twenty (20) new born babies at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on boxing Day.

The practice, which has become an annual ritual, affords the telecom company the opportunity to welcome babies born on December 25th with gift hampers in district, regional and referral hospitals across Ghana.

Kwami Aseye Agudey, Manager In-charge of Customer Experience at all MTN Service Centres in the North said “Christmas is a season of showing love and sharing with one another and we chose to donate hampers that are made of baby essentials and some airtime to mothers who delivered yesterday 25th of December”.

He added: “This is an annual activity and we have been running this over the past 12 years and so this is just another day that we have to present this to babies that were born yesterday.”

According to Mr Agudey, across Ghana 500 hampers were being donated to all Christmas day babies in various selected hospitals.

“In the Northern Region, we are doing the donations in the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Saboba District Hospital”, he emphasized.

Midwife In-charge of the Labour Ward at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Fauzia Adam, on behalf of management thanked MTN Ghana for their consistent support to new born babies and their mothers.

“Every year they (MTN Ghana) celebrate Christmas with our mothers and once again we are happy to have them in our midst to celebrate with us again. This year’s hampers are so big and pray and hope that next year you’ll come back to celebrate with our new born babies.”

She also thanked MTN Ghana for donating airtime to management and staff of the Labour Ward to facilitate their external communication with clients relatives.

Of the 20 babies delivered on Christmas day, 12 were females and the remaining 8 males.

The hampers contained sponges, towels, soap, diapers, sanitizers, toys and other essential commodities for babies.
