An Open Letter To My Great Admirer Buipewura Jinapor II

AN OPEN LETER TO MY GREAT ADMIRER BUIPEWURA JINAPOR (II)

Dear Jira Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (II).

Please stop making calls to people to “blast” them for campaigning against your son and MP for Damongo Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor.

Politics is a matter of choice.

Someone was standing by you, when you called a prominent citizen of Gonja and a sub- Chief from the Kpembe Traditional Area of Gonja on Tuesday 26th November, 2024 and had “bad words” for him.

You probably did that because someone might have told you the said sub- Chief was campaigning against your son and MP for Damongo Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor in the Damongo constituency.

You went to the extent saying things against H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

Why that Jira Buipewura?

With all due respect your call was unnecessary and uncalled for.

From my enquiries the said sub- Chief knowing what your son did for him has never uttered a word against Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor in all the rounds he secretly embarked with other prominent citizens of Gonja like Sandapewura Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna (former Minister of Agriculture) to campaign for H.E. John Dramani Mahama) in the Damongo constituency and other parts of Savannah Region. As a Member of the Council of Elders of the NDC in the Savannah Region the said sub-Chief always accompany other members of the NDC Council of Elders in Savannah Region to wherever they go but has never said a word.

Jira Buipewura, at least some of us “looking at the bigger Gonja picture” supported you and wrote articles for you when you decided to contest as Vice- President of the National House of Chiefs (see first comment).

I had a big backlash for supporting you but I stood my grounds that you were the best for the position and you “will remain committed to the Savannah Region’s chieftaincy institution and to the interest of the Savannah Region”.

Inshah Allah you won with a landslide.

I’m one person who admire you so much but Jira with all due respect to you as a revered Chief of Gonja, a development oriented Chief and a pacesetter, some of your actions are unnecessary and indefensible.

Please Jira Buipewura, stay neutral in these fews days left for the December 7th elections. You have two sons who are MP’s in both NPP and NDC and now seeking re-election

Therefore I sincerely think it is unnecessary to take on anyone for campaigning against any of them.

From Your humble great Admirer Mahama Haruna.
