Tamale, Ghana – Fifty-four (54) MTN mobile money merchants and agents have been honoured at the 2024 MTN MoMo at 15 Stakeholders Dinner and Awards Night held in Tamale.
The 54 comprised 36 merchants and 18 agents who were honoured at a colourful ceremony on Wednesday night at Mariam Hotel in Tamale.
All the 54 awardees who were selected from the Upper West, Upper East, North East, Northern and the Savannah Regions, each received certificates of appreciation, cash prizes and brand new motorbikes.
In the merchants category, Sparkles Pub & Restaurant from the North East Region, Amdaway Oil Company Ltd from the Savannah Region, Mahama Alidu from the Upper East Region, Adams Broni Enterprise Ltd from the Upper West Region and I no go sell Enterprise from the Northern Region topped their respective regions. They were each given certificates of appreciation and Gh¢15,000 cash prize.
For those who came first in the agents category, Torres Ventures from the North East Region, Go-limit Enterprise from the Savannah Region, AG Multi Business from the Upper East Region, Abontula Enterprise from the Upper West Region and Awenboro Investments from the Northern Region were each given certificates of appreciation and brand new motorbikes.
The remaining awardees in the merchant and agent categories were also given certificates of appreciation and cash prizes ranging from Gh¢5,000 to Gh¢1,000 for those who took second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth positions respectively.
The awards ceremony was held as part of activities to climax the celebration of the 15th anniversary of MTN MoMo Ltd. It was also held to honour merchants and agents within the mobile money ecosystem for their commitment and contribution to the MTN MoMo Ltd brand and working in a concerted effort to grow their customer base in their respective operational areas.
Simon Amoh, Senior Manager in-charge of Regional Sales – North at MTN Ghana, expressed profound appreciation to all stakeholders particularly the millions of customers for their support and patronage of the company’s products and services.
According to Mr. Amoh, after 15 years, MTN MoMo Ltd had increased revenue for government, created direct and indirect employment for many Ghanaians and facilitated business transactions effortlessly.
