Dear Northern Politician,

I have been wanting to write to you this letter for quite sometime now but some issues captured my attention at home. In fact I have spent the longest period at home meeting family this year than I have done in the last ten years and all is because of you people.

I will first of all like to congratulate you for your help in keeping our people where they are now. You have successfully put them in a very great dependency position such that without you, even water to drink is a problem.

You have made us understand that, we are so poor that poverty is richer than us. You proceed any speech of yours with the poverty remark and you have done so beautifully well that, a speech without that line is said to be incomplete.

My letter today is not about lamenting but to share some thoughts with you. I know you guys are older than I am so any advice from me will be thrown to the dogs.I will however not stop writing to you.

First of all, I guess a lot of you went home during the Christmas festivities or u did not go because people will come for their share of the National cake? Well that’s not my problem. My problem is with the youth who have nothing to do.

A lot of these youth are ready to do anything to make money and this has led them to do very crazy things including armed robbery to survive. I am sure you are not happy with that.

I am writing to tell you to put aside your obsessive partisanship and focus on one key government policy I am so in love with. That policy is the one village one dam policy.

I am so much in love with it because of what a dam constructed at Bandem in the Builsa north district is doing for the youth in the area. If you really love your people and you are there for them, please don’t let this policy fail. I will personally not forgive any of you if this policy fails.

Imagine young people doing vegetable farming and supplying our markets with fresh vegetables each day to boost our health need while getting income for themselves. This is what this policy will do if we all support it. You know that we have just one season and such a program will help out people a lot.

So please get your partisanship out of our way if you really care about us.

Happy new year to you guys.
