Minister Urges Ghanaians to Put Nation First in 2018

Accra, Ghana – Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo has appealed to Ghanaians to put the interest of the country first as the world races into 2018.

In his New Year message, he advised that Ghana’s interest must prominently feature in the resolutions of the citizenry to make it a better place for the current generation and the unborn.

“As we enter the New Year, let us endeavor to have Ghana and the interest of our nation feature in our resolutions. Let us commit ourselves to putting the nation and her interest first. And let us be reminded of the fact that the great Ghana Project, the project to make Ghana a better place for today and tomorrow, would only work if we all commit to it”

He disclosed that he is prepared to  do  more in service to the nation and his  constituents as he  tackles the menace of poverty, unemployment and disease.

“In spite of the ups and downs, 2017 has generally been a good year.

It was on the 7th of January, 2017 that I began my duties as a Member of Parliament representing the good people of Lawra Constituency.  Sometime later, in April of 2017, I took on additional duties as Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways.

Both positions afforded me the opportunity, during the year, to directly participate in the governance of our beloved nation and to be of service to my constituents and to my country.

The highest point of the year, for me, was when Mr. President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, visited my constituency during our annual Kobine Festival, reaffirmed his support and gave his commendation for my work as a Member of Parliament and a Deputy Minister of State.

In 2018, I am resolved to do even more in service to my nation and my constituents as we tackle the menace of poverty, unemployment, and disease.

And I can safely predict based on the work done this year, that it is going to be a good, good year”, he said in a statement.
