Northern Region Gets Divisional Police Headquarters

Lamashegu, Ghana – The Northern Regional Police Command has established its first divisional police headquarters at Lamashegu, a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis.

With growing levels of insecurity manifesting in various forms including armed robbery, internet fraud and money rituals among others, it has become very important for the Regional Police Command to respond more appropriately with resources such as a divisional command headquarters.

According to the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong, the establishment of the divisional headquarters in addition to the already existing District Police headquarters and three police stations would enhance the security of people in the region.

Speaking at the inauguration of the divisional headquarters over the weekend, DCOP Sarpong said divisional headquarters would reduce work load on the District Police Headquarters.

Tamale Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Dinam Zoiku, who would be in charge of the newly established command, promised to fight crime and reduce it to its lowest level.

While commending the general public for their cooperation so far in crime combat, he appealed to them to assist the police with information that would lead to the arrest of people planning to commit crime.

Chief Superintendent Zoiku also assured that informants would be protected and there were plans to reward such informants in the future once approval is given.
