Fire Burns Room at Radach Hotel

Lamashegu, Ghana – A fire outbreak resulting from power fluctuations on Thursday morning nearly razed down Rodach  Lodge and Conference Centre (RLCC), a popular hotel in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

The fire destroyed items such as table, air conditioner, curtain and bed in room number 11.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the  room located on the second floor at about 7am.

It took the timely intervention of other guests in the hotel and personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service to prevent the fire from spreading through the entire building.

Assistant Station Officer at the Northern Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service, Frank Baah told the media that their preliminary investigation actually confirmed the fire was caused by power fluctuation.

Mr. Baah appealed to the general public to take safety precautions to prevent fire outbreaks in their homes, place of work and other public facilities.

Meanwhile, Assistant Manager of the Hotel, Frimpongmaa Asare Faustina assured clients of putting in place measures to prevent future disasters including fire outbreaks.
