Modern Star Integrated School Presents 32 Candidates For 2018 WASSCE And BECE Exams

Tamale, Ghana – The first batch of students of Modern Star Integrated School (MSIS -Tamale) for both the Senior High School (SHS) and Junior High School (JHS) are taking part in the ongoing 2018 Basic Certificate Examination Council and the West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSSCE).

The school presented 15 and 17 candidates for the Junior High School and Senior High School respectively for both BECE and WASSSCE.

The 2018 BECE would commence on 4th June whiles the WASSSCE has since begun in earnest on the 3rd of April, 2017.

Administrator of Modern Star Integrated School, Patience Nkara Kpiniong speaking at an orientation programme organised for the candidates, said the school has prepared them (students) both psychologically and academically for the exams.

According to her, students of the school were being trained in the three domains of learning which are, psychomotor, affective and cognitive.

She however admitted that there were some isolated challenges the students were encountering in their learning abilities but said she was quite convince that the candidates would perform well since they had adequately been prepared ahead of time.

She stated “As this exam marks a very crucial stepping stone in the academic pursuits of all candidates, it is the hope and prayer of management that the Almighty God will crown all your efforts and toil with success so as to justify all the investments made in you by your respective families and country at large”.

She therefore on behalf of Management of MSIS – Tamale wished all candidates the best of luck.

She also advised the candidates to abide by the rules and regulations governing the West Africa Examination Council in order not to fall into trouble.

Outlining modalities the school had put in place to address individual student’s challenges, Madam Patience Kpiniong said academic counselors had since been assigned to each student to help them in any area they might be facing challenges.

Modern Star Integrated School is a conventional college which has been in operation over a decade now, providing quality education to the marginalized and needy in society. The school runs Basic (Nursery, Primary and JHS) and Senior High School Education as well as certificate programmes in vocational and technical training.

The school runs as a charitable organization where at least 50 percent of the students who are usually brilliant but needy are on full scholarship.
