Slavery on our own land is what I choose to call it. The white skin has more significance than the oxygen my people breath. Until the day, when we realize the damage this mental slavery has done and is doing to ourselves and generation yet unborn, our system would keep spinning to to favor the white skin.
Tell me which hospital in Italy or Germany or USA or Canada would give a VVIP treatment to a frustrated Blackman who has no one to turn to for a help assuming you unfortunately find yourself in their land. Why must we be treated as first class animals by them while we also treat ourselves as second class humans to them?
For three days running today, a story of an alleged rape case was told involving a young man called Ernest Green and an Italian lady known as Maltiti Daniela. The said story as captured on newspapers, online portals and other media tabloids has passed judgment already even before Mr Green is heard. He’s called a rapist, he’s insulted, his person has been damaged, the West Gonja Hospital reputation is smashed, the name of West Gonja District is spoilt beyond repairs.
As usual, the Ghanaian went ranting and attacking Mr Green even before he’s heard. The Ghanaian in us won’t allow us to pass judgement based on facts but on the mere fact that it is a white lady who’s supposed to be the victim. It serves us right anyway; how can we give that trickster of a white lady some kind of VVIP treatment by isolating her from other ordinary black patients. If she was kept in the same ward with some other patients, this story would not have been told in the first place.
Maltiti Daniela, an Italian tourist who was reported to have booked a room at Mole Motel for two nights but ended up doing one night because she’s run out of cash was reported to have been raped 24 hours after she checked out of Mole Motel. According to stories from Mole Motel, Daniela had to pass a night at an unknown place after she checked out. In the evening of the same day, she was seen drunk and loitering around the Mole Motel and when asked, she said she was going to pass the night with a male friend in Mole.
The story of her illness and alleged rape came as a surprise to most staff and people who saw and dealt with her a day before. When admitted at the West Gonja District Hospital (WGDH), Daniela couldn’t even pay for common infusions. After some attempts to get money with her ATM to deposit at WGDH before her treatment commences proved futile, Mr Green out of his generosity resorted to other means (begging other patients) of getting her some drugs and infusions just to stabilize the condition of Daniela. This is his reward for his generosity. And the most annoying thing is that, we are been told WHITES DO NOT LIE, isn’t that an insult to our skin?
This was a lady who was vomiting and passing stool indiscriminately. This was a lady who was looking for a savior because she couldn’t survive her financial situation. This was a lady who was looking for the least opportunity to get to her Embassy for sympathy and assistance. This was a lady whose mental state in highly questionable. So how could such a lady put up this story to frame Mr Green who is known to be one of the humble and respected staffs of the WGDH?
Are we asking the right questions since this story broke? Are we ready to listen to a black man other than giving preferential treatment to a white lady who I see as a trickster? Note these:
1. Daniela lied at the WGDH that she was ealier detained at the Mole Health Centre. Checks at the Mole Health Centre proved to be false. Why would she lie? Whites too lie anyway.
2. Daniela lied to the Damongo Police that the VVIP ward at WGDH was warm which compelled her to remove her clothes leaving only her pant. The same Daniela in her statement in Tamale indicated that the same VVIP ward was cold because of the air condition which was why she requested Mr Green to cover her with a blanket and in the process the alleged rape happened. Which is which?
3. Daniela told the police that Mr Green ejaculated in her but the quick test run proved negative (no seminal fluid found in her vagina).
4. Daniela changed her storyline again that Mr Green rather ejaculated on the bedspread for whatever reason. A test run on the said bedspread proved negative. But at this juncture, the Daniela who said in her statement that she was unconscious and couldn’t help herself can now tell which bedspread she slept on, so the story has changed; Daniela said the bedspread that was sent to Tamale for test wasn’t the same she slept on on that night. Isn’t this strange? And the police has time to listen to these changes stories and punishing another Blackman for no crime.
A well armed police officers numbering 25 or more stormed the WGDH in search of the said bedspread and strangely, Mr Green was handcuffed as though he’s a common criminal. Are our laws established to punish Ghanaians and favor Foreigners? The police kept saying they can’t do Otherwise because the order was from “above”…a usual cliche of the Ghanaian.
Very strangely, Mr Green is a married young man who refused to go back to the south after he completed Damongo Nursing Training College. He dedicated his life in serving the West Gonja District. He’s married to a colleague nurse who coincidentally was on duty at the same time with the husband. As beautiful as his wife is and as humble as Mr Green is, which devil at all could overpower him so much so that his libido could cajole him into sleeping with a helpless-messed-up-lady who vomited on her clothes and couldn’t help herself and not just put a phone call to his beautiful wife just for some 5 minutes quickie? Then this devil could be a twin brother of the one that entered Judas Iscariot.
As we speak, Mr Green is being held in cells as a common crimial without any prove of criminality because the stories of Daniela ain’t adding up.
Those who joined the fray in attacking and crucifying the person of Mr Green and calling for his incarceration without hearing his sad story is much worse than those who lynched Major Maxwell Mahama. The person of Mr Green is injured without repairs meanwhile the information I am picking is that the Embassy is preparing to fly Maltiti Daniela back to Italy which has been her dream hence, this framed story.
Let’s allow due process to flow and let’s support justice but not in this form. Is it because she’s white? We have heard stories of innocent young ladies who get abuse(d) and our governments, our civil society, our clergy, the ordinary Ghanaian look and gloss over them. This mental slavery must stop. Let’s give meaning to the black skin. Let the oxygen we all breath be the reason to treat humans as they are and not the color of their skins.
#JUSTICE4GREEN.
