Open Letter To Mr. Robert Cudjoe, PRO Of MoH

Dear Sir,

I bring you warm greetings from my one corner location, somewhere in the Northern Region of Ghana but temporarily in the Central Region.

Sir, I listened to you with vigor and enthusiasm on GBC’s “Behind the news” yesterday 14th May, 2018. I must however state in black and white that my vigor vanished and my enthusiasm eroded when you became emotional instead of being passionate and arrogant instead of being tact. What I’m I talking about?

1. I’m talking about your response following the input of the GRNMA President on same medium when he eloquently called his members not to sign unto the Heal Ghana module of the freshest baby in Ghana, and I mean NaBCo in its current state.

2. You stated that it’s so sad that these young ones prioritizes money over Nation building.

3. You added that the purpose of the programme is “Nation building” and not an avenue to pay salaries.

Sir, with respect to my number 2 above, I wish to ask if you were appointed to destroy the nation because you are on a fat salary? I also want to ask if you would have accepted your appointment if the conditions were not satisfactory to you? I think your statement is an insult to the integrity of these young nurses and the entire nursing profession in Ghana.

Secondly I think you have demonstrated pure ignorance about the programme contrary to the objective of NaBCo as stated by the #Coordinator of the programme and if I were you, I would have resigned from this honourable position.

With respect to my number 3 as stated above, I wish to ask if the light bills, water bills, accommodation, transportation, feeding, hygiene etc expenses will be taken care of by your good person for which you think this is not the time to demand for good remuneration.

How much is accommodation cost in the capital city that you think GHc700 cedis for a high skilled labour like a nurse is enough to keep quiet amidst the high levels of risks associated with job.

I’m sorry Sir, but I must state that, but for the Animal Farm politics in Africa and specifically Ghana, your salary should not be more than that of a Staff Nurse. Time is an essence for money and so I will like to end here while hoping you will ask for the tape of your own input on the programme and reflect on it.

My intent of this small piece is to “Build Ghana” through constructive criticism.
Sir, I mean no harm or malice in mind.
Please take it in good fate after all we are all “Building Ghana” with our abilities in diverse ways including criticism like mine.
Thank you.
