Krachiwura Nana Mprah Besemuna II has noted that the Oti enclave fighting for the creation of the Oti Region hold no grudge against Ewes in the Volta Region over the creation of the new region.
Nana Mprah Besemuna II said the creation of the region would go a long way to develop the area which is has been lagging in development.
The Krachiwura who is also the Chairman on the Joint Consultative Committee(JCC) on the creation of the region was speaking at a rally at Kete-Krachi to sensitize the residents on the creation of the region and the activities of Oti Movement.
He asserted that the area is not ready to join Togo as its been spear-headed by some people in the Volta Region.
“We have no fight with the Ewes, it is only a few people who do not support the creation of the region who are instigating us against the Ewes. When this region is created, generations after us would come and enjoy,” Nana Mprah Besemuna II said.
The Member of Parliament for Krachi West Constituency, Helen Adwoa Ntoso speaking at the programme noted that the quest to get the Oti Region should not be marred by partisan politics.
Madam Ntoso called for a united front to ensure that the region is created.
The District Chief Executive for Krachi West, Douglas Nti indicated his outfit is pledging it support for the creation of the region and urged the indigenes to turn up in their numbers on the day of the referendum to vote “Yes” to ensure that the region is created.
The late Secretary of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) Dr. Kwaku Addeah was commended for his support towards the creation of the region.
