Tribute to Alhaji Meijida of Bole

The Mankumawura (caretaker Chief of Bole Traditional Area), the Sakpawura and the Bagbiapewura announce the sudden death of a prominent figure in Bole called Alhaji Meijida. The whole Bole township is in a state of shock and mourning mood.

Alhaji Meijida is a founding father of the NDC and was the first Chairman of the paty in 1992 and held the position for many years.

Alhaii Meijida retired as Chairman of NDC and became the father of the party.

Alhaji Meijida was also a kin pin of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union of the Trades Union Congress (GPRTU of TUC).

As NDC Chairman Alhaji Meijida played a crucial role in helping former President John Dramani Mahama to become MP in 1997.

He became the head of his family and in extension a known opinion leader in Bole solving numerous problems not only within his family and party NDC but many problems between other people. He was able to take out hundreds of cases at the Bole Police station for out of court settlement.

He is known to be jovial and so concerned about the development of Bole often inviting or visiting DCE’s to discuss many issues in Bole.

Alhaji Meijida was an avid listener of Nkilgi at Bole and was the unofficial patron of the Radio station assisting us in so many ways.
