Bole, Ghana – The General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Aseidu Nketiah has entreated all NDC members to serve the party and distinguish themselves so as to be rewarded in future.
He said NDC members do not need positions in the party in order to serve the party and that he earned the name General Mosquito when he was an ordinary member of NDC and a Member of Parliament.
The NDC General Secretary said this after swearing in the new executives of the NDC in the Bole-Bamboi constituency early this morning (Sunday 15th July, 2018) around 3:00am.
All the newly elected executives of NDC lined up and were sworn in by the NDC General Secretary Johnson Aseidu Nketiah after which he addressed the new executives and party members present.
The NDC election in Bole-Bamboi was faced with some controversies until the NDC General Secretary Johnson Aseidu Nketiah moved to Bole to help resolve issues.
Before the election a group called “The Hawks” in Bole-Bamboi stormed the premises of the Electoral Commission at the Bole District Assembly and blocked officials of the EC from moving to the voting centre with the reason that there was an injunction on the election at a Tamale High Court because of some anomalies on the delegates list, but after deliberations it was said the case has been struck out of court.
Another group called “Our Men” came to the EC office in Bole to prevent The Hawks of Bole from heckling the EC officials resulting in some confusion but the leadership of the party led by Asiedu Nketiah swiftly came in to cool tempers after which there was a smooth election.
The winners at the end of the elections are; Chairman-
Amoro Fushieni (incumbent); Vice- Chairman, Abubakari Alidu (unopposed), Secretary- Asumah Abudulai (incumbent) and Deputy Secretary-Hazak Haruun Zakaria.
Others are Treasurer- Alhaji Nsiah Adams Bamba (incumbent); Deputy Treasurer-David Bii Jimah; Organiser- Alhaji Kassim Alhassan Kamagtey and Deputy Organiser-Gonsob Sansah Samuel.
The rest are Communication Officer- RA Jalil; Deputy Communication Officer-Amantana Bashiru; Womens Organiser- Hajia Masata Deen; Deputy Women’s Organiser- Hawa Helen- Youth Organiser- Dodovi Etse; Deputy Youth Organiser- Karley Maxwell Choco and Zongo Caucus:
Haruna Braimah (unopposed).
The retained Chairman of the NDC Alhaji Fusheini Amoro promised to unite the NDC in Bole-Bamboi. He said there is no winner and there is no loser and that the NDC party is the winner.
