Tamale, Ghana – Irate youth of pro-NPP vigilante group, Kandahar Boys, on Monday, 13 August 2018 chased the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Akolbila, out of his office.
Class News’ regional correspondent Jamal Deen reported that Dr Akolbila’s office is currently under lock and key.
According to Jamal Deen, the Kandahar Boys are accusing Dr Akolbila of breaching procurement laws and also described him as incompetent CEO.
The vigilante group accused the CEO of adopting a habit of issuing threats to staff, engaging in procurement breaches and neglecting the purchase of key hospital consumables such as examination gloves, needles and syringes, among other things.
The youth also alleged that under Dr Akolbila’s watch, the Tamale Teaching Hospital keeps deteriorating.
The irate Kandahar Boys said they would not sit idle and watch the hospital collapse, thus, their action.
