Tamale, Ghana – The leadership of Pro-NPP vigilante group, Kandahar Boys, have denied members of the group chased the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Kolbilla, out of his office.
On Monday, 13 August 2018, some irate youth of Tamale besieged the hospital to sack the CEO from his office.
Reports alleged that the angry youth were members of the Kandahar Boys but a statement signed by the secretary of the group, Umar Farouk, said its members are not aware a group of people stormed the Teaching Hospital and has absolutely no hands in it.
“It’s therefore imperative to inform the public that the information out there that indicts Kandahar as being part of that orchestra is palpable falsehood and should be treated with the contempt it deserves,” the statement said.
The irate youth accused Dr Kolbilla of breaching procurement laws and also described him as an incompetent CEO.
They accused the CEO of adopting a habit of issuing threats to staff, engaging in procurement breaches and neglecting the purchase of key hospital consumables such as examination gloves, needles and syringes, among other things.
The youth also alleged that under Dr Kolbilla’s watch, the Tamale Teaching Hospital keeps deteriorating.
