Bole Youth Group Demands Unqualified Apology From COCOBOD Boss

Bole, Ghana – A youth group in Bole called Constituency Watch Bole-Bamboi is demanding an unqualified apology from the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana COCOBOD Joseph Boahen Aidoo for describing the building and renovation of a COCOBOD guest house at Bole sometime ago as a “frivolous activity” and undeserving for Bole but decided to sleep in the same guest house when he visited Bole last Friday 10th August, 2018 to Saturday 11th August, 2018.

A statement signed by the President of the group Abdulai Haruna Obey said the insulting comments from the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD is still fresh in the minds of many people in Bole.

According the group, on 1st November, 2017, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) accused former President John Dramani Mahama of influencing the construction of an “unnecessary guesthouse” using funds belonging to COCOBOD.

The group disclosed that Mr. Boahen Aidoo said Bole does not deserve a good Guesthouse and it was wrong putting a COCOBOD guesthouse in Bole.

“Why should he sleep in the same guesthouse after visiting Bole” they asked and also explained that their statement is not a political one but a statement to expose the hypocrisy of politicians with an example being what the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD said about the COCOBOD guesthouse in Bole but went contrary to what he said.

The group also thanked famers for their representation at a meeting last Friday 10th August, 2018 which expanded a discussion and offered a broader perspective of the development of the sheanut industry in the district and the region at large.
