Nandom, Ghana – Nandom, is poised for a bumper harvest this year as a result of governments flagship Agricultural policy-Planting for Food and Jobs and the good rainfall pattern in the last few months.
This was realized during a tour of some selected farms across Nandom by the District Chief Executive Thaddeus Arkum Aasoglenang and the District Director of Agriculture Mr. Dominic Maalu.
Mr. Aasoglenang expressed satisfaction and excitement at the level of interest by farmers in the Planting for Food and Jobs campaign initiated by government in 2017.
He said government is ready and willing to support agriculture in order to drive the transformation of the country’s economy.
Mr. Aasoglenang called on all and sundry to try to venture into agriculture so that they can also benefit from the PF&J.
The District Director of Agriculture cautioned farmers to still be on the lookout for the fall armyworms in their farms.
According to him, there is enough pesticides in stock to combat any worm invasion in farms in the district.
