Buipe, Ghana – Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (II) on Saturday launched the 10 years of his enskinment as the Paramount Chief.
The launch was well attended by chiefs, sons and daughters including politicians from the Buipewura’s Traditional Area.
Chiribonwura Kipo Harrison Salifu who read the speech of the Buipewura said the Buipewura dedicated his 10th anniversary to the creation of awareness of the proposed Savannah Region out of the Northern Region and therefore, implored all present especially the media to educate and inform the public in the Savanah catchment areas under the proposed Savannah Region to vote YES on the 27th December 2018 for the region to be created.
Chiribonwura Kipo Harrison , a former Headmaster of Damongo Senior High School reminded all and sundry that the commencement of vote transfer especially to those outside the catchment areas started on Sunday 16th September 2018 and therefore urged everybody present to inform those outside to transfer their votes to enable them exercise their franchise in December.
The Buipewura through Chiribonwura Kipo Harrison called on his people to fully participate in all activities before the grand durbar of his 10th Anniversary during the Annual Damba festival of the Chiefs and people of Buipe in December, 2018.
The Buipewura thanked the Yagbonwura for all what he has done for him throughout the last 10years of his reign and also thanked his Chiefs and people for their unflinching support.
A raffle that was drawn as part of the anniversary celebration saw many people win several awards.
The first football match between teams in Gonjaland to commemorate the anniversary was played.
Key among the several prominent dignitaries who graced the launch were representatives of the Overlord of Gonjaland, Alhaji Losina Afuli, Paramount Chief of Kong Traditional Area, Kongwura Jinkurge (I), Central Gonja District Chief Executive, Dr. Mustapha, Alhaji Dr Achanso Sulemana of Bui Power Authority, Alhaji Iddirsu Sulemana (Professor Kalamonia), a former NPP Regional Vice Chairman hopeful and others.
Buipewura Abudulai Jinapor II who is a retired Police Officer was enskinned Buipewura in 2008 following the death of his successor Buipewura Atoti Chinchanko.
Before his enskinment, Buipewura Jinapor II was a sub-chief of Buipe (Silmawura).
