Tamale, Ghana – Christ to The Rural World, the outreach ministry of Accra-based Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry (CEM) led by Bishop Steve Mensah, has demonstrated that the kingdom business is not only about preaching the gospel of Christ Jesus, but also, clothing the naked, giving water to the thirsty, feeding the hungry and providing care for the sick.
As part of the ongoing 5-day crusade of CEM in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana which started on Monday November 12, 2018, CEM enormous humanitarian services is being provided to thousands of people who are attending the nightly programme at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium annex.
The crusade programme is mainly organized to preach the gospel of Christ Jesus and to mark 30 years of Bishop Steve’s evangelistic ministry in rural Ghana.
On Wednesday November 14, 2018, hundreds of the crusade attendants including people who did not attend the crusade were given many basic necessities of life. Some of the items are soap, cooking oil, salt, lanterns, clothes, buckets, mattresses, wheelchairs and among others.
“In all, we have brought 11 trucks of items to this crusade. We’re talking about trucks of clothes, food items, 5000 lanterns, mattresses, soaps, 1000 canes for the blind, wheelchairs for the crippled and 1500 bibles among others.
“We know that there is going to be healing but we also know that not everyone will be healed. That is why we came with the wheelchairs, canes for blind and other things for those who are poor and in need. We don’t just preach Jesus but we also take care of you”, Bishop Steve announced this on Monday at a news conference when he and his team touched down at the Tamale International Airport.
Bishop Steve continued: “We also came with about 30 surgeons who are here to provide different kinds of surgeries to people who have problems requiring surgery. We’re also sinking 30 boreholes at different locations in communities which lack good drinking water”.
Moreover, over ministers of the gospel from 11 international communities such as USA, UK, France, Ghana and Nigeria among others have been ministering to thousands of people every night. Prominent Nigerian-born UK-based Pastor and televangelist, Mathew Ashimolowo, is among the men of God who have been preaching and teaching at the crusade.
By Friday November 16, 2018, about 22,000 people from the over 20 districts in the Northern Region are expected to attend the crusade.
Founder and Leader of Fountain Gate Chapel International, Rev. Joseph Eastwood Anaba who made a brief stop while on his way to Accra from his base in Bolgatanga, also commended Bishop Steve Mensah and his twin brother Rev. Stanley Mensah and their wives for taking the decision to hold the crusade in the Northern Region.
He called for God’s blessings upon them and the crusade programme, noting that, it requires a lot of resources to organize such an event which also comes with enormous humanitarian services to the people of the area.
