Tamale, Ghana – One of the major highlights of the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry’s Christ to the Rural World (CRW) crusade in Tamale last week was the organisation of a two-day Youth Empowerment Conference.
Dubbed: “Youth With a Mission”, the power-packed conference, which took place between Wednesday November 14 and 15, 2018, featured six experienced ministers of the gospel and human capital development experts, who provided mentorship and coaching to all participants.
They are; Global President of KICC Church, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Founder of Pleasant Place Church, Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, Head of KICC Church Ghana, Reverend Andy Yawson, Founder of Charismatic Evangelical Ministry, Bishop Steve Mensah, Chief Executive of Afiba Consulting, Mr. Jesse Agyepong, and Founder of All Nations Church, Atlanta, Dr. Frank Ofosu-Appiah.
Pastor Ashimolowo, renowned for his business and leadership inspiring messages, urged participants to develop the mindset of a millionaire if they need to succeed in business or entrepreneurship.
He said anyone who wants to break away from the shackles of poverty and become prosperous must dream great dreams and do what they are passionate about in life.
In a presentation dubbed “The Mindset of Kingdom Millionaires”, the author of over 100 books, also asked participants to find and develop their unique gifts, commit to excellence, develop a clear sense of direction with respect to what they want to achieve, give to God when they succeed in any business they do, take care of their families as well as the poor and needy.
“Never entertain the thought of failure in anything you or dream of doing. Failure will get you stuck in your present situation. And so for you to be able to succeed, keep fear away and be focused so that whatever you’ve set out to achieve, you will achieve it. Commit yourself to continuous learning”, Pastor Ashimolowo opined.
The CEO of Afiba Consulting, a marketing and brand expert also in a presentation, said in order for young people to breakthrough in the business world, “they must be ready to do anything for anyone for nothing and must be willing to do somethings for some people for very little.
Mr. Agyepong noted that, through persistence and commitment to excellence, any young person who has just started a business and is willing to do anything for nothing or little, would be paid their due for exactly what they are doing or overpaid for just carrying their name.
For owners of startups, he said “build yourself in the area you are, be consistent in delivering what the people or customers want, understand your audience or customers and know who they are, define properly who your brand must appeal to and also, people must be aware of your brand.”
The conference brought together nearly 500 young people including tertiary students, graduates and startup entrepreneurs who benefited from the wealth of knowledge of the aforementioned speakers.
Rev. Steve & Rev. Stanley
“For the past 30 years, we have been doing this programme called Christ to the Rural World. But we realized that most at times when we go, we forget about the youth who are the future leaders of this country. So Rev. Steve thought it wise for us to organize a programme that will empower them. So we decided to put together a programme that will empower them to think right and when they think right they will be able to achieve whatever they’re destined for” Rev. Charles Afile, Head of CEM’s Bible School told Savannah News in an interview.
He said the next step is for CEM to start a youth movement in the Tamale Metropolis so that all beneficiaries of the conference can be part of it. “We’ll keep on liaising with them, share informatio with them and possibly organize more training programmes for them.
“Initially, we didn’t think that a lot of people would be coming for the programme but on the first day alone many people came and that encouraged us. They asked questions that made us to believe that they were really serious and interested in the programme,” Rev. Afile noted.
CRW crusade programme was mainly organized by CEM to preach the gospel of Christ Jesus and to mark 30 years of evangelistic ministry of Bishop Steve Mensah.
Besides the free Youth Empowerment Conference that was organized for the youth of Tamale, CEM also brought 11 trucks of items including clothes, food items, 5000 lanterns, mattresses, soaps, 1000 canes for the blind, wheelchairs for the crippled and 1500 bibles among others.
About 30 surgeons from different background were also brought in to perform surgeries for people who had medical problems requiring surgery. “We’re also sinking 30 boreholes at different locations in communities which lack good drinking water”, Bishop Mensah told journalists.
Christ to The Rural World is a ministry under CEM which preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ to people in the rural areas across the length and breadth of Ghana and beyond through the medium of crusades.
The ministry of CRW also reaches out to the poor, needy, aged, blind, crippled and among others in the ‘rural world’ with food, clothing and free medical services.
