Bawku, Ghana – The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage, has appealed to all residents of the region to put aside their political colours and support the social interventions rolled out by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo so that the poor and the less privileged could benefit.
Some of the interventions are: the Free Senior High School, Planting for Food and Jobs, One Village One Dam and One District One Warehouse among others which are meant to alleviate poverty.
Madam Paulina Patience said these when she paid a courtesy call on the Bawku Naba (Chief of Bawku), Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II in his palace in Bawku on Tuesday December 4, 2018.
She said under the One Village One Dam policy, Bawku Municipality received ten dams which were being constructed and urged the residents to take advantage of it and utilize them to their benefit.
She also encouraged them to take advantage of the Rearing for Food and Jobs to rear animals especially small ruminants and guinea fowls to feed the southern sector of the country and also the international market.
The Minister took time off her busy schedule to interact with the New Patriotic Party elders in the Bawku Municipality where she received tumultuous reception from the party elders, youth and women.
They assured her of their support for the party and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his vision for the country while they promised their commitment to work hard for the party to succeed in the 2020 general elections.
She said the Bolgatanga Pulmako road has been budgeted for in the 2019 budget for the completion of that stretch and that the party was sure of sweeping all the parliamentary seats in the zone.
As part of her visit to Bawku, the Regional Minister also donated ten pairs of crutches to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital to help those recovering from injuries.
She was hopeful that the items would go a long way to help the hospital in providing a special care for those in need of them.
The Matron of the Nursing Training School who received the crutches on behalf of the hospital thanked the Minister for her kind gesture.
She said the crutches were mostly needed at the physiotherapy unit of the hospital to help patients who are going through certain therapeutic exercises to accelerate their recovery processes.
