Bole: NPP Chairman Leads Demonstration to Oust DCE From Office

Bole, Ghana – A cross section of NPP youth led by the Constituency Chairman of the party in the Bole-Bamboi constituency Mr Sulemana Zakaria embarked on a demonstration today at Bole to get the DCE for the district, Madam Veronica Alele Herming removed from office.

The constituency Chairman, Mr Sulemana Zakaria in a telephone interview on Bole based Nkilgi FM stated that he is leading the demonstration to oust Madam Veronica because she is incompetent.

The Chairman further tagged the DCE as being behind the Chieftaincy issues in Bole and was also responsible for putting a curfew on Bole township.

In a sharp rebuttal via phone on a hot morning show on Bole based Nkilgi FM, the DCE said she is not new to the actions of the Chairman since he has sent more than 10 letters to the office of the Preaident and Vice President to sack her but she is still at post.

She denied her involvement in the Bole chieftaincy issues and said the Bole Chieftaincy issues started before she was appointed as the DCE.

Madam Alele went on to say that she was in Accra to appeal to the authorities to lift the curfew since it slows down business activities and retards development in the area.

Madam Alele said she informed the party chairman about her journey to Accra only to receive a letter about a planned demonstration by the chairman.

She disclosed that she called the Bole NPP Chairman to find out about the letter and he vehemently denied knowledge about it. DCE Alele described his Chairman as a “chameleon”.

Even though the number of people who were involved in the demonstration were less than expected, the Chairman and his people marched on the principal streets of Bole wielding placards with some of them reading; “Alele has no leadership skills”, “she is collapsing Bole Assembly”; “Alele must Go” etc.

Many people in the Bole district are fed up with the everyday banter between the NPP Chairman and DCE for Bole for the past years and are calling for a cease fire since Bole is already engulfed with security threats leading to an imposition of a curfew in that area.

Meanwhile, Communication officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Bole- Bamboi Constituency R.A. Jalil has praised the NPP in that area for their everyday infighting since that will help collapse the party in that area.

He said that the NPP party even in unity is not making any impact over the years.

R.A. Jalil says he sees a total collapse of the NPP in Bole- Bamboi in the near future which will help the NDC secure a 100% victory come 2020 in the constituency.
