Damongo: Giving Back To Society Is Part of Me – NPP Philanthropist

Damongo, Ghana – A leading member of the NPP in the Damongo Constituency, Hon. Sulemana Nyadia has donated 400 pair of sandals to two communities in the Damongo Constituency in the newly created Savanna Region.

The communities, Langantre and Bidima basic schools received 200 pair of sandals each and two footballs each in addition.

Presenting the items, Mr Nyadia who has has a large mango plantation in between the two communities said he was touched seeing how the school children walk bare footed to and from the school every day. He therefore saw it very necessary to give back to the very society that he hails from.

Mr Nyadia said his father is settled at Bidma with his grandmother also coming from Langantre. He therefore sees the two communities as his home.

Speaking to Nkilgi FM, Mr Nyadia said it was through his effort that the Bidma primary was built in 2007. He said he used 50 million old cedis to build a three unit classroom block to put the school in Bidma.

He told Nkilgi Fm there are a lot that he is doing in the two communities and pledged to do more. Mr Nyadia every year farms cultivates an acre each to the women in two of the communities.

According to him, apart from the sandals and the balls, plans are in advance to secure table desks for the Bidima school since the few ones in the school are broken. He also pledged to secure about 50 bicycles to the students who attends JHS in Busunu on foot daily to access learning.

Asked whether that is a step in eyeing the Damongo seat, Mr Nyadia said he has no intention to contest the Damongo seat but doing his philanthropic work because of how he started.

Parents of the kids were full of praise for Mr Nyadia and wished him well in his endeavours.
The pupils and their parents who were happy thanked Hon Nyadia for the donation and said their wards will no longer walk barefooted to school.

Accompanying Mr Nyadia to the communities included Nana Kwame Aboagye, NPP chairman for Damongo Nana Kwame Aboagye and some of his executives from the NPP in the Damongo Constituency.
