Bole Flood: DCE Links Shoddy Road Construction to Death of Three Boys

Bole, Ghana – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole Madam Veronica Alele Heming has said the contractor who worked on the Seripe to Dakurpe and Kabilma road in the Bole District did shoddy work resulting in washing away of part of the road that three boys on a motor King tricycle fell into and died.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi Fm, the DCE said she called the contractor two times to inform him of the situation but the contractor refused to pick her call so she sent him a text message that he has killed three people because of his shoddy work.

The DCE explained that her third call did not go through because the contractor had switched off his phone.

Madam Veronica Alele Heming told Nkilgi FM that the contractor diverted the bridge because there are stones where it was supposed to be and did not also compact the road around the bridge.

The DCE said deforestation in the Bole area is causing a lot of havoc. She said the trees that block rainstorms have all been cut and fears for a worse situation in the rainy season.
