Bole: Reconstruct Our Dam or We Hit The Street in Protest – Group Tells DCE

Bole, Ghana – Some residents of Bole have threatened to hit the streets of Bole if a popular Dam in Bole town called Pompigbon is not worked on by the end of this month February, 2019.

The Preaident of the Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi Haruna Abudulai Obey explained that more than 100 households in the Mempeasem, Balipe, Korupe, Jagape and communities in Bole are at risk and expected to be evacuated if rising waters from Pompigbon Dam overflow its banks.

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi says said the Techiman to Wa main road will also be divided into two at Bole meaning vehicles from the Upper West Region cannot pass through Bole to Southern Ghana.

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi say the situation is frightening and wish to remind Bole people of the growing risk facing the town.

Haruna Abudulai Obey said information available to Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi through Nkilgi FM at Bole indicate that the budgetary allocation for the reconstruction work on the said dam last year November was One hundred and fifty thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc150,000) or 1.5 billion old Ghana cedis.

The question tue Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi is asking is where is the money?

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi therefore calls on the Hon DCE for Bole Madam Veronica Alele to as a matter of urgency award the contract in time to avoid any serious danger.

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi said prevention is better than cure and that a heavy downpour in the Bole District on Saturday 2nd February, 2019 resulted in the death of three people from Kabilma. Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi said these innocent people were in a tricycle upon crossing a washed off bridge over a river called “Yokanba” situated on the Dakurpe and Kabilma in the Bole District got drowned after their tricycle could not withstand the speeding water and therefore submerged alongside the three people.

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi said the DCE for Bole Madam Veronica Alele Heming is watching and passing by the degraded Pompigbon on Bole and are asking if she is waiting for it to kill innocent souls before the assembly work on it?

Constituency Watch Bole- Bamboi called on the DCE to work on Pompigbon dam by the end of February, 2019 or they will hit the streets of Bole to call for the Dam to be worked on.
