Tamale: Hundreds Participate in Keep Fit, Free Medical Screening by Ghana Lifestyle Awards

Tamale, Ghana – Hundreds of residents of Tamale, capital of the Northern Region over the weekend, participated in a 10 kilometre health walk as part of activities lined up to announce the birth of “Ghana Lifestyle Awards”.

Alongside the health walk, there was also a free medical screening for all participants and passersby in the bustling commercial city of Northern Ghana.

The Ghana Lifestyle Awards is an upcoming event aimed at celebrating individuals and companies in the fashion and lifestyle industry who have contributed immensely towards the socio-economic development of Ghana.

Arnold Mashud, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Lifestyle Awards, said “…this is not just a walk and free medical screening but it also offers a common platform for individuals and organisations to get to know each other and network to do business”.

Business, he pointed out, is about connection, networking and collaboration.

He appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to come on board and support the Awards initiative.

The health walk and free medical screening brought together keep fit clubs, models, fashion designers, photographers, hairstylists, makeup artistes, event service providers, spoken word artistes (poets) and many other lifestyle industry entrepreneurs who converged at the Tamale Jubilee Park.

Marie Stopes International, a family planning services provider, sponsored the health screening which saw hundreds of people benefiting.

Marketing Manager of the Tamale Branch of Marie Stopes International, Latif also educated participants on the benefits family planning.
