Damongo, Ghana – The King and Overlord as well as current President of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, Jira Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa (I) will arrive in Damongo the Capital of the newly created Region to a tumultuous welcome.
The Yagbonwura will fly to Tamale this afternoon and is expected to be in Damongo where his Palace (Jakpa Palace) is located by 12:00noon.
Sub-Chiefs and Residents of Damongo are expected to meet and escort the Yagbonwura at a place called “Chinese Yard” or Catholic Guest house junction into Damongo.
Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa has made history since the Savannah Region was created during his reign.
The people of Gonjaland appreciates the hardwork of the Yagbonwura and the Gonja Traditional Council before and during the processes on the creation of the Savannah Region.
Bole based Nkilgi FM will bring the entry of Damongo by Yagbonwura live to its listeners in the Bole, Sawla- Tuna- Kalba and parts of West Gonja, North Gonja and Central Gonja Districts.
