Bole, Ghana – The Bole District Assembly in the Savannah Region of Ghana, has open two newly constructed markets at Mankuma and Mandari for business.
District Chief Executive, Madam Veronica Alele Herming together with some officials of the Assembly arrived in Mankuma on Tuesday February 19, 2019 to a rousing welcome from a gathering of people from both communities.
She told the gathering, the Assembly with the support of government is committed to bringing development always to the people of Ghana and for that matter Bole.
She encouraged residents of the communities to keep on paying their taxes since every token they take from them is for their benefit in terms of development.
Madam Alele said through the policies and programs of the Nana Akufo-Addo led administration, she is committed to getting her quota in electricity, schools, roads and markets from government.
The 2016 parliamentary candidate of the ruling NPP also asked market women to apply for stalls in the new market through their Assemblymen.
She urged the market women not to use the market stalls as kitchens since that can lead to a fire disaster.
She also announced that plans are underway for the construction of the Mankuma dam by next month.
The Assemblyman for Mankuma who doubles as the Presiding Member for the Bole District Assembly, Abu Sumani Thompson, expressed exviexcite over the gesture by the DCE and appealed for more projects.
He however said the market stores are 24 which means they are very limited and cannot be given to all the market women.
The Presiding member pleaded seriously for peace since everyone cannot be given a store.
Abu Sumani Thompson called for more jobs to be created for the teeming youth of Mankuma.
From Mankuma, the DCE and officers of the Bole District Assembly proceeded to Mandari and inaugurated another beautiful market for the community.
The DCE appealed to the people of Mandari to pay taxes and take a very good care of the market.
At the handing over attended by several dignitaries including chiefs and religious leaders, the DCE told the gathering to pray for her and the staff of the Bole District Assembly to keep working for them and the district.
The Assemblyman for Mandari Electoral Area, Saaka Dinona accompanied by other Assembly members, graced the handing over ceremony of the Mandari market stalls.
