N/R:Minister to receive Excellence Honorary Award

Tamale, Ghana – The Northern Regional Minister, Hon Salifu Saeed has received nomination to be honored for his outstanding performance for the year 2018.

At the maiden edition of the Northern Excellence Awards night on March 6, 2019, Mr. Saeed’s classic performance will be acknowledged especially, the role he performed to restore peace and unity back to the Dagbon state.

The Minster played a critical role to ensure the performance of the funeral rites of the late Ya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani II and Ya Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV between December 2018 and January 2019 and the subsequent enskinment of a substantive Overlord, Ya Naa Abukari II.

Hitherto, Mr. Saeed also facilitated measures and supported the people Nakpanduri in the now North East region to end the ethnic conflict between Konkombas and Bimobas. As a result, the Chiefs and elders in the community held a blood burial and committed to peace and never to fight each other.

He also served as a conduit of peace between the Chiefs and people of Kafaba and Kalapor in the East Gonja municipality in the now Savannah region when communal violence ensued in the area. He has been able to maintain law and order in the once troubled and hotspot northern region since assuming office as the Regional Minister.

The Northern Excellence Awards is an initiative of the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation (CeChDF) to recognize the significant contribution of some individuals and organizations operating in the northern region and the nation Ghana.

Additionally, the Minister’s prowess ended the media war battle amongst the Islamic Scholars during the 2018 Ramadan at their various centers where they give sermons to the populace of Tamale.

He constituted a committee comprising members from the various Islamic faiths to monitor the local airwaves for punitive sanctions to be taken against anyone found culprit of hate speech.
