Damongo, Ghana – Thieves for the second time in two months broke into the Damongo Hospital Canteen. No money or items were stolen but the thieves had merry making with the sachets of alcoholic drinks in the restaurant and also went away with all hard drinks in bottles.
Empty sachets of alcoholic drinks were found in large quantities scattered all over the counter of the bar the next morning after the bar was broken into.
Many are wondering why thieves will go to the extent of stealing sachets of alcoholic drinks.
Also bottles of Alomo bitters, whisky and other drinks were consumed and left on the counter of the bar as if it was a regular selling day.
Bole based Nkilgi Nkilgi Fm spoke to the caretaker of the Hospital Canteen called Madam Tina and she confirmed the incident. She explained that the incident happened last Sunday after they closed the bar around 11:40pm and went on home.
Madam Tina said the following day (last monday morning) a lady helping her at the bar realised all the drinks were gone and that they were surprised they had music gadgets and other items but none was taken except all her drinks which they believe was consumed at the bar.
Madam Tina said that was not the first time thieves broke into the bar to steal their alcoholic drinks.
