Tamale, Ghana – ghfactsonline.com can authoritatively report that a business man and a marriage counselor, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz will be contesting for the Savelugu seat as an independent candidate in the 2020 general elections.
Confirming his decision to contest the Savelugu seat as an independent candidate to ghfactsonline.com on Saturday 27th, July, 2019, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz revealed that his passion for development influenced him to contest the Savelugu parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.
According to him, the people of Savelugu are seriously yearning for a good leadership that will improve their lives and as someone with international exposure, Mr. Abdul Aziz believes he can transform the Savelugu Constituency if elected into Parliament.
As a devopmental activist, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz is promising to drive economic development to make Savelugu a business hub to improve business in the country.
He believes Savelugu is well positioned to serve as a a business development hub where business transactions can be carried out between Ghana and its neighbouring countries such as Burkina Faso.
On agriculture, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz said he will encourage dry season farming by constructing mechanized irrigational dams to cultivate crops to help the farmers earn some income.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz opines that most of the youth will be engage in agriculture to curb unemployment and insecurity in the Savelugu Constituency and the country as a whole.
He is also promising to help amend some of the laws of the country if elected into Parliament and also help design a national development agenda to make Ghana the Singapore of Africa.
Considering the outcome of elections in recent times, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz said there is no safe seat for any political party anymore and declared he will snatch the Savelugu seat from the NPP and NDC come 2020 general elections to salvage the suffering of the constituents.
As someone who was born into the NDC and communicated for the party several years, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz revealed he left the NDC after the party failed to fulfill most of the promises they made to Ghanaians prior to the 2008 general elections and added that the NDC failed to listen to his advice which landed them into opposition in 2016 general elections.
After joining NPP immediately after the 2016 general elections, Mr. Ibn Shiraz said the NPP has also failed Ghanaians and sighted the building of the National Cathedral and the One-Village-One-Dam among others as some of the failures of NPP which compelled him to leave the NPP in 2018.
In his experience in working with several NGOs in the country, Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz said he will improve education in the area by collaborating with NGOs and other stakeholders in and outside the country.
He also intends to initiate a teachers awards scheme to motivate the teachers and and also assist brilliant but needy students to improve education in the constituency.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Ibn Shiraz is a native of Savelugu and a son of the first DCE for Savelugu under the Rawlings regime. He is a farmer, a marriage councillor and a business man. He is married with three children.
