Tamale, Ghana – West Africa Centre for Counter-Extremism (WACCE) in collaboration with the US Embassy, Ghana, is organizing a two-day capacity building workshop as part of it’s PVE program.
This workshop seeks to address the challenge of Ethnic and Chieftaincy violence in Ghana and commences from Monday 9th September to Tuesday 10th September 2019 at 7As Services Centre in Yendi.
The workshop is intended to train and empower 100 youth leaders and community representatives from Conflict zones in Northern Ghana to serve as effective peace ambassadors to enable them contribute meaningfully towards building a resilient youth front for sustainable peace.
These peace ambassadors are intended to serve as peer educators and as leading voices for the amplification of narratives that are supportive of peace.
“We regard you as a key player in the peace and development efforts in Northern Ghana and we encourage you to effectively participate in this workshop”, a statement from WACCE Executive Director, Mutaru Mumuni Moqthar said on Wednesday
Registration and participation is free and comes with a certificate endorsed by the US Embassy.
