UW/R: Minister Presents Cartons of Beverages to Chiefs, Clergy And Others

Wa, Ghana – The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih on Thursday presented several hundreds of cartons of non-alcoholic beverages to various institutions and groups in Wa, the regional capital.

The items were presented by a team led by the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council’s Public Relations Officer, Mr.Cletus Awuni and Mohammed Musah Bipuah, a Communications Team member of the ruling government.

The Archbishop of Wa Roman Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Richard Bawobr, the Overlord of Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo (IV), the Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Osman Kanihi, the President of the Local Council of Churches, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, the Ahli Sunnah Wal jamaa, National Democratic Congress and other youth groups in the Wa Municipality were all presented with cartons of beverages.

Mr. Awuni said “Ever since Dr. Bin Salih took office as a Regional Minister he has always championed religious cohesion and I think this is a festive season and he wants to strengthen the peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians. He equally believes in the birth of Christ and this is a special period where we have to share and he has sent us to present these items to the Catholic church on his behalf. So if you see us here that is the main reason why we are at your door this morning” he told Rev. Father Benjamin Feritie, Chancellor at the Bishop’s secretariat.

In response, Rev. Father Feritie said “the gesture of the Regional Minister is very much appreciated. Indeed, sharing is a very wonderful experience. When we share we have everything. When we are keeping things to ourselves we just remain individuals. So this wonderful gesture is truely well received and Bishop is going to make sure it reaches all the entire diocese which comprises of twenty six parishes and about six institutions”.

The head of the Local Council of Churches and Executives also thanked the Regional Minister for the kind gesture. They promised to pray for peaceful elections outcome in 2020.

The NDC Wa Central Youth Organiser Abdulai Ibrahim together with his Second Deputy Hanif Boby received the items and thanked the Regional Minister on behalf of the Youth Wing.
