I humbly request Ghanaians to ask the following questions on the President’s promise to build 88 hospitals in some districts across the country. What happens to La General Hospital in Accra which they (government) promised to build months ago. Health centers in district capitals are nothing to write home about.
So the government has money and has been lying to us all along.
The details will be captured in the July supplementary budget and NPP campaign manifesto I guess. We are not stupid anymore to believe the president who has been exposed by the Covid-19 fundamentals.
Questions
- What is the source of funding for these hospitals?
-
Has government been able to secure lands for these hospitals?
-
How much money are we expecting to spend on these newly hospitals?
-
Do the funding of these upcoming hospitals (if there is any) come with hospital equipments?
-
President Akuffo-Addo says he wants to build 88 hospitals. Find attached the 2020 budget as approved by Parliament and captured in the appropriations act. The approved amount for health infrastructure is 44,396,929 million Ghana cedis. Divide the total figure by 88 hospitals and you will realize the president intends spending about Gh¢500,000 to build just One of his “ultramodern hospitals” within the said 8 months. What standard is that going to be?
