Tamale, Ghana – Markaz Al Bishara, a Tamale based charity organisation, has made donations of medical consumables to three health facilities in the Tamale Metropolis and Sagnarigu Municipality in the Northern Region.
The first set of items worth Gh¢10,000.00 were presented to the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Monday. They include 100 pieces of face mask, 100 pieces of N95 face mask, 3000 pieces of examination gloves and 22 pieces of face shield.
Tunayilli Clinic also received 15 pieces of N95 face mask and 500 pieces of examination gloves whereas Kanvilli Clinic received 50 pieces of face mask, 15 pieces of N95 mask, 500 examination gloves and 5 pieces of face shield.
According to Executive Director of Markaz Al Bishara, Reverend Johnson Asare, the donation was made to support the three health facilities to enable them subdue pressure brought upon limited resources at their disposal by the coronavirus pandemic.
He believed that the donation would go a long way to boost the morale of doctors and nurses in the fight against the virus.
He added that the donations were made possible through the generous contributions of Gate Way of Hope Incorporated, USA and Living Bread Missions, Accra.
Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Physician Consultant Dr. Odalys Rivera who received the donation on behalf of management of the TTH expressed gratitude to Markaz Al Bishara and its partners.
She noted that normal clinical care was due to resume very soon at the TTH and that the donation by the three nongovernmental organisations came at the right time.
Markaz Al Bishara has existed for more than two decades in the Northern Region. During this period, it has provided enormous support in the areas of improved water and sanitation, school infrastructure and health care.
