BECE: ‘Perform Better Than Your Predecessors’ – Nandom NDC PC

Tamale, Ghana – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Nandom constituency, has challenged all candidates of the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination to perform better than their predecessors.

According to Dr Richard Kuuire, the Nandom Municipality like Ghana, has reached a critical stage in its development and required quality human resources to speed up the process to enable it catch up with the rest of the country.

He said the better the results this year’s BECE candidates obtained the brighter the opportunities ahead of them as they move higher the academic ladder.

“I want to assure you that none of you would be left behind as you complete your basic education this week. Even if you are not able to get the required pass to enable you gain admission into your preferred senior high school, vocational or technical school, you would be offered an opportunity by the next NDC Government under President John Dramani Mahama and I as your MP that would probably leap frog you into the world of work and entrepreneurship.

“Under the John Mahama administration, we are ensuring that every Ghanaian child including you who are writing your BECE exam today to have access to free education at SHS, Vocational and Technical school. Young people who may not be interested in formal education or are unable to progress in their quest for formal education would be provided with skills training and after the training, they would be equipped with tools and workshops to start their work. Even as you are going through the training as an apprentice, every month the government of John Mahama would pay you a stipend or pocket money to enable you go for the training”, Dr Kuuire said in a statement copied to SavannahNews.

The Nandom NDC parliamentary candidate also admonished all BECE candidates in the constituency to continue to observe all Covid-19 safety protocols as they write their exams throughout the week.

“Continue to avoid touching your nose and eyes. Cover your mouth with your elbow or handkerchief when sneezing or coughing. Wash your hands with water and soap after touching potentially infected surfaces. Or use hand sanitisers regularly to avoid being infected with the virus.

“Study hard after every paper so as to enable you write the next paper and pass well. Don’t be intimidated by any circumstances. Good luck to everyone of you” Dr Kuuire noted.
