2020 Polls: Vote For Dr. Kuuire For More Development Projects

Tamale, Ghana – A leading member of Friends of Dr. Richard Kuuire Fun Club in Tamale, Dunstan Pagzu, has called on all electorate in the Nandom Constituency to rally their support behind the NDC parliamentary candidate and vote for him at the December 7 election.

According to him, Dr. Kuuire of the National Democratic Congress has always demonstrated that he is more committed to the development of Nandom long before he even entered active politics.

“Look around and you will see that what the man is doing is worthy of commendation. In almost every community in Nandom, his foot prints are there. It’s either he has sank a borehole, extended electricity or provided educational resources to the people”, Mr. Pagzu told SavannahNewsOnline.Com in an exclusive interview in Tamale.

“What else can we expect to see before we become convince that Dr. Kuuire can represent us as a people? He’s touching lives and transforming the vision and aspirations of the Nandom people. This is the right man for the job”, he indicated.

Mr. Pagzu also urged all electorate who lived and worked outside Nandom to endeavour to go home and vote this year. “Some electorate have over the years refused to go home and vote although they are registered voters in Nandom. I want to encourage every electorate who wants to take part in the development process of Nandom to endeavour to go home and vote for Dr. Kuuire and John Mahama come December 7”, he stressed.

In the run-up to the 2016 general elections, Dr. Kuuire sank over 40 boreholes in over 30 communities in the constituency that were faced with serious water scarcity. Some of the communities include Zongo, Puffien, Segru, Tampelle, St. Theresa’s Hospital, Kusele, Baseble, Down Below, Gaamuoyir, Biiregangn, Kogle, Pataal, Tankyara, Taayaga, Goziir and Daagangn.

He extended electricity to 7 different communities. They were Tom, Zimuopare, Nabugangn, Naapaal, Ko-vaarpuo, Nandomle and Betaglu. He also built schools in communities such as Domanje, Zimuopare, Nabugangn, Monyupelle, Ketuo and Dabagteng among others.

Dr. Richard Kuuire is a professionally trained lawyer, prisons officer, administrator and a military expert with over 33 years of working experience, nationally and internationally. Ten years of this professional experience has been working with the United Nations as a Corrections Adviser in prison reforms and re-establishing prison systems in post-conflict environments and general rule of law issues.

He worked with the Ghana Prisons Service between 1980 and 2003, rising through the ranks to becoming the Director General of the Service from November 2000 to September 2003. In September 2007, he was appointed Corrections Policy Officer at the UN Headquarters where he served as the Corrections Coordinator.

Dr. Kuuire holds a Bachelor of Law (LL. B Hons) awarded to him by the University of Ghana in 1979. In 1983, he received a Barrister-at-Law (BL) from the Ghana Law School and was called to the Bar.
He also received a Diploma from the Ghana Military Academy in 1982; Certificate from the Junior Division of the Ghana Armed Forces Staff College (JSC) after three (3) months Course in 1982; Passed Staff College (PSC) Diploma awarded by the Senior Division of the Ghana Armed Forces Staff College after one (1) year course in various fields of Management and Leadership, Accra, 1986.

He has a Certificate in Management, awarded by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration; Certificate in Management of Prisons and Prisoners awarded by UNAFRI – Kampala, Uganda; Chief Executive Programme Certificate at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration; Certificate from Crown Agents International Management Centre, UK, in Advance Prison Management -1999; Certificate in Competency Based Performance Management Programme in May 2006 – United Nations Mission in Sudan.

Meanwhile, Friends of Dr. Richard Kuuire Fun Club, is a socio-political group based in Tamale in the Northern Region. The main goal of the Club is to canvass for support and votes for the aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate for the Nandom Constituency.
