Nanton: MP Launches Educational Fund; Donates Big to Decentralised Depts

Nanton, Ghana – Member of Parliament for the Nanton Constituency in the Northern Region, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has launched the Soya-Lana Educational Endowment Fund.

The launch is a fulfilment of one his 2020 campaign promises to the people of Nanton.

Launching the Fund on Monday, Alhaji Iddrisu said: “Similar to the thoughts – Free Senior High School policy of HE Nana Akufo -Addo – I promised an educational trust fund to complement the beautiful policy in the course of my campaign. As such, I successfully launched the Soya- Lana Educational Endowment/ Trust Fund (the first of its kind in the constituency) at a ceremony in Tolon today.”

According to the promising legislator, the Fund would pay 50 percent of total school fees for male students,  100 percent of fees for Female students and 100 percent of fees for persons with disability.

The Deputy Majority Chief Whip also took the opportunity to donate 20 motorcycles to be distributed amongst all decentralised departmens in the Nanton District Assembly to assist in the discharge of their duties.

“I further donated 50 anti-venom snake supplements to the District Health Service. A photocopy machine, printer and desktop computers for the secretariat of the District Police service”, he added
