Tamale: MTN Ghana Presents Food Items to Muslim Community

Tamale, Ghana – In a few days, the Holy month of Ramadan would be coming to an end and Muslims in Ghana and around the world will be celebrating Eidul Fitr.

Ahead of the celebrations, management and staff of MTN Ghana today extended their warmest regards and most sincere wishes to the Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Imam Abdul Salam and the Muslim Community.

“In the spirit of Ramadan and Eidul Fitr, and in furtherance of our existing relationship with the Muslim community, we present to 10 bags of rice, 10 cartons of vegetable oil, packs of mineral water, packs of soft drinks, a ram and airtime worth GH¢ 500”, Obed Adu-Amankwah, Head of Sales in charge of Northern Ghana said when he led a team to present the items to the Chief Imam.

Mr Adu-Amankwah said, in addition to the donation, MTN was also donating to the Regional Chief Imams in Takoradi, and Kumasi as well as the National Chief Imam.

“MTN Ghana will also donate food items to Muslim families in Nima, Maamobi, Fadama, Ashaiman, Kosoa, Koforidua Zongo, Asawase, Aboabo, Sawaba, Moshie Zongo and Akwatia line”, he added.

Mr Adu-Amankwah also used the opportunity to inform the office of the Northern Regional Chief Imam that, MTN Ghana would mark the 25th Anniversary of its operations this year.

“As part of the celebrations, MTN Ghana has set-aside the equivalent of US$25 million to support the country with a legacy project and other Community intervention projects. Details of the celebrations will be made public. We are very grateful to you and the entire Muslim community for your support over the years”, he stated.

Sheikh Imam Abdul Salam also thanked the management and staff of MTN Ghana for their consistent support to the Muslim community in Ghana over the years during Eid celebrations.

He indicated his office and the entire Muslim community would continue to pray for business growth and expansion for MTN Ghana.
