Sheikh Dalhu Supports Government’s Green Ghana Project

Tamale, Ghana – Renowned Islamic Cleric and spiritual leader of the Shia Muslim community in the Northern Region, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalhu has fully adopted government’s Green Ghana project.

In collaboration with other development partners including the Northern Regional Council of State Member, the Dalhu Greening project targets planting 3000 trees in some selected communities in the Tamale Metropolitan Area.

The tree planting exercise scheduled for Saturday June 19, 2021 is to augment government’s vision of transforming the nation’s vegetative cover.

Sheikh Dalhu at the official launch said the harmful effects of climate change required a multifaceted approach, hence the Dalhu Greening initiative.

“The fight against climate change and global warming is a matter of life and death which needs urgent and concerted efforts to overcome.”

He urged the youth to serve as worthy Ambassadors to the development of the society by discouraging bush burning and other deforestation practices.

He commended government’s effort to mitigate the dangers of climate change.
