Tamale, Ghana – MTN Ghana Foundation as part of its annual ritual has presented gift hampers to babies born on 25th December at the Tamale Teaching Hospital in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The annual presentation of gift hampers to newly born babies on Boxing Day is inline with the corporate social responsibilities of the nation’s leading mobile telecommunication network, MTN Ghana.
Regional Branches Manager of MTN Ghana in-charge of the Northern Sector, Kwame Aseye, in making the presentation at TTH on Sunday, said “We believe that Christmas is a season of giving, a season of sharing. And so doing this we want our mothers and their babies to share in the joy of the season.”
“What is unique about this year’s presentation is that we have expanded it to twelve different hospitals across Northern Ghana”, he added.
Besides the TTH, newly born babies at the West Gonja Hospital, Salaga Government Hospital and the Saboba Hospital were also given gift hampers.
A Senior Midwifery Officer at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Adam Zainab, who received the team from MTN Ghana, expressed joy about the presentation.
“Every year MTN Ghana comes around on Christmas Day to put smiles on the faces of our mothers and I’m always around. I’m happy for what they have been doing over the years and I want to thank them. God will bless them and expand their network”, she said.
Of the 19 babies who were given the hampers, 11 were males while the rest were females. Each hamper contained baby soap, dettol, towel, diapers, wipers, pomade, powder, dresses, blanket, washing powder and feeding bottle among others.
