Dr Sangu Delle Nominated for Prestigious African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2022

Tamale, Ghana – Medical Entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Dr Sangu Delle has been nominated for the 2022 African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA).

ABLA is a flagship programme of UK based African Leadership Magazine which seeks “to recognise exceptional corporate practices and outstanding achievements in the African business landscape, as well as contributions to the continent’s inclusive socio-economic growth and development.”

Over 60 prominent individuals and institutions cutting across international, regional and governmental levels have been nominated in 13 different categories. Voting is open from now till June 3.

Dr Delle who is founder and Chairman of Golden Palm Investments Corporation has been nominated in the Young Business Leader of the Year category as the only Ghanaian alongside Ally Edha Awadh, CEO, Lake Oil Group, Tanzania, Stephen Sembuya, CEO, Pink Foods Industries, Uganda, and Emmanuel Ademola Ayilara, CEO, Landwey.

“This award recognizes a young African business leader, 40 years of age or below, whose outstanding business successes and verifiable business journey have made them role models and inspirational success stories in the marketplace”, the website of ABLA said.

About Sangu Delle

Dr Sangu Delle is Chairman and CEO of Africa Health Holdings (“AHH”), an innovative pan African company based in West Africa, Ghana, focused on “building Africa’s healthcare future.”

Prior to joining AHH, Sangu served from 2006 to 2017 as the Chief Executive Officer of Golden Palm Investments Corporation (“GPIC”), a venture capital firm he founded. GPIC has invested in some of the leading healthcare and technology companies on the continent including Andela, Flutterwave, mPharma, Reliance HMO, and Rabito Clinic Limited. GPIC portfolio companies have raised over $900 million in venture financing.

Dr Delle has had previous work experience at Valiant Capital Partners, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs. He serves on the Board of Directors and advisory boards of multiple global institutions, including AHH, mPharma, Andela, Harvard Medical School’s Global Health and Service Advisory Council, Harvard’s Center for African Studies, and Ashesi University.

Sangu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Highest Honors) in African Studies and Economics from Harvard College, a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Master in International Human Rights Law from Oxford University, a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a PhD from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He also holds an executive education certificate in leadership from Oxford University’s Said School of Business.

Sangu is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

Other Ghanaians Nominated

Four other prominent business leaders from Ghana have also been nominated in the African Business Leadership Awards. They are Chief Dr Daniel Mckorley, Group CEO, McDan Group of Companies who has been nominated in the African Business Leader of the Year category and Ms Patricia Poku-Diaby, CEO, Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited also nominated in the African Female Business Leader of The Year category. The others are Ms Afua Asabea Asare, CEO, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, and Ms Abena Brigidi, CEO, Nimed Capital Limited who are nominated in the African Inspirational Business Leadership Award category.
