Tamale, Ghana – Ghana’s leading shipping and aviation magnate, Chief Dr Daniel McKorley has been nominated for the prestigious African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2022.
ABLA is a flagship programme of UK based African Leadership Magazine which seeks “to recognise exceptional corporate practices and outstanding achievements in the African business landscape, as well as contributions to the continent’s inclusive socio-economic growth and development.”
Over 60 prominent individuals and institutions cutting across international, regional and governmental levels have been nominated in 13 different categories. Voting is open from now till June 3.
Chief Dr McKorley who is founder of McDan Aviation has been nominated in the African Business Leader of The Year category as the only Ghanaian alongside
Akindele Akintoye, Chairman, Platform Capital, Nigeria, Jean Kacou Diagou, President, NSIA Banque, La Côte d’Ivoire, Alioune Ndiaye, CEO, Orange Middle East And Africa, and Sam Matekane, Group Chairman, Matekane Group of Companies, Lesotho.

Chief Dr Mckorley holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership from the Commonwealth University, London Business School, an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) and a Bachelors in Entrepreneurship both from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) as well as a Diploma in Leadership from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA.
He is a distinguished and highly sought after motivational speaker on Leadership, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sports Development, Mentorship, Investment promotion, developing positive attitude to Successful life, Business Strategy, among others. Dr. McKorley serves on several private and public Boards and consults for many blue chip Companies and SMEs. Dr. McKorley’s heart is known for what he does best – giving back to Society.

Four other prominent business leaders from Ghana have also been nominated in the African Business Leadership Awards. They are Dr Sangu Delle, founder and Chairman of Golden Palm Investments Corporation nominated in the Young Business Leader of the Year category and Ms Patricia Poku-Diaby, CEO, Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited also nominated in the African Female Business Leader of The Year category. The others are Ms Afua Asabea Asare, CEO, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, and Ms Abena Brigidi, CEO, Nimed Capital Limited who are nominated in the African Inspirational Business Leadership category.
