By Faith Charity Fdn Holds Mega Party For The Poor in Sagnarigu and Tamale

Sagnarigu, Ghana – By Faith Charity Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of By Faith Catering Services in the Sagnarigu Municipality, has thrown a mega party for the poor and vulnerable residing in the Tamale and Sagnarigu communities.

An estimated 1,103 people including adults and children were brought together on Tuesday February 13 at the Holy Cross Parish of the Tamale Archdiocese of the Roman Church to have a feast.

The annual get-together which started in 2014, has always brought together hundreds of poor people and different groups of persons with disabilities including the hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically disabled, persons with albinism among others to play, eat and drink.

This year, the founders of By Faith Catering Services and By Faith Charity Foundation, Sir Matthew Pipio Eib and his wife Dame Mrs. Matilda Zenabu Pipio Eib, were unprecedentedly overwhelmed with the number of people who came, yet everyone had something to eat and drink.

The visually impaired played football much to the amazement of many people. As if that was not enough, a musical band led by a visually impaired man also entertained everyone who came with different genre of music.

The Beginning of By Faith Catering Foundation

By Faith Charity Foundation was launched in 2013 and since 2014 it has organized parties every year for the poor and destitute as part of the corporate social responsibilities of By Faith Catering Services.

According to Sir Pipio Eib, a Director of By Faith Catering Services and co-founder of By Faith Charity Foundation, the main objective of the Foundation, was to provide care and support to the poor and destitute, Catholics and non-Catholics who reside within and outside the Tamale and Sagnarigu communities.

He explained that, By Faith Charity Foundation was actually founded in 2013 following the death of a Catholic priest called Rev. Fr. Martin Balamas. The late priest, he recounted, used to take very good care of the poor and destitute in the Holy Cross Parish.

However, during the funeral of Fr. Balamas, the poor including disabled people felt they had lost their only source of livelihood.

‘They wept so much so that my wife Dame Mrs. Pipio Eib who was at the funeral was touched and decided that she would take it upon herself and annually bring together all the poor and vulnerable the late Fr. Balamas was taking care of and throw a party for them,’ he added.

Since 2014, every February the month of love, Sir Matthew Pipio Eib and his wife Dame Mrs. Matilda Pipio Eib have been organizing all the poor and vulnerable and bringing them together to make merry.
