Yesterday Saturday 27th April, 2024, you disrespected the King and Overlord of Gonja at Damongo during the 48th Annual Congress of the Gonjaland Youth Association and the 1st Anniversary of the Kimg and Overlord of Gonja Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I).
You saw how people at the Durbar were fuming with anger as you were speaking.
Can you do what you did to Asantehene or Okyehene?
You requested to read your speech because your helicopter was waiting for you and your Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon Abu Jinapor stampeded the MC into releasing the microphone for him after you ordered him go and make the announcement.
Why come to the programme in the first place if you have no time?
You saw how the multitude of people at the durbar raised an alarm and the grounds got heated while you were speaking. No one even heard what you said.
You saw how some people were on former President John Dramani Mahama to get up and leave the grounds because of your blatant breaking of protocol and the programme line up. I even saw an NDC Savannah Regional Executive trying to pull JM’s smock to get up.
But as patient as JM is, he refused.
I thank NDC members for their patience yesterday after the King and Overlord Yagbonwura quickly sent a delegation of prominent Paramount Chiefs to plead with John Dramani Mahama not to leave the grounds after you President Akufo-Addo ‘disrespectfully’ left the grounds.
Yes many were fuming because you President Akufo-Addo should have at least waited to listen to the Speech of the King and Overlord of Gonja (Yagbonwura).
How can you talk before Yagbonwura whose Palace invited you. Where is this done?
The programme line up was very clear.
The President of the Gonjaland Youth Association was to speak first, the speech of the King and Overlord of Gonja was to follow, then former President John Dramani Mahama will speak before you President Akufo-Addo as the last speaker.
Why did you insist to speak after the President of the Gonjaland Youth Association gave his speech and when the revered King and Overlord of Gonja was about to speak? Can you do this to any King in Ghana?
We will interrogate the rumour that you left the grounds after Yagbonwura’s Speech was leaked to you.
