DACUFEST: Celebrate Dagara Culture, Unite Communities in Vibrant Festival Across Ghana

Calling all culture enthusiasts, foodies, and those seeking a unique Ghanaian experience! The Dagara Culture Festival, also known as DACUFEST, is set to take Ghana by storm, with a vibrant celebration moving across five regions throughout the year.

A Celebration of Heritage:
Having a parent festival in Burkina Faso for thirteen years now as Festival de la Culture Dagara – FESCUDA, Dagara Culture Festival – DACUFEST is the English version in Ghana. This takes the festival to another level as two countries will now celebrate every year in about 10 cities across these countries. Duly registered with the Ghana Tourism Authority and Centre for National Culture, DACUFEST is a dynamic showcase of the rich tapestry of Dagara culture and heritage. The festival kicks off on December 25th, 2024, in Nandom, Upper West Region, and will then travel to Bono (Techiman), Northern (Tamale), Ashanti (Kumasi), and Greater Accra (Accra) regions. Each location promises an unforgettable evening filled with music, dance, and a chance to connect with the welcoming Dagara people.

More Than Just Entertainment:

DACUFEST goes beyond mere entertainment. It carries the noble mission of “Celebrating Dagara culture, uniting communities, and empowering socio-economic growth.” With a vision of “Showcasing Dagara heritage, fostering cultural exchange, and transforming lives,” the festival aims to:

Promote Dagara cultural heritage on a national and international stage.

Foster community engagement and participation, building strong bonds.

Empower local economic development through tourism and fostering entrepreneurship.

Facilitate cultural exchange programs and collaborations, creating understanding.

Preserve and document Dagara traditions and customs, ensuring their survival.

Experience the Magic:

The festival promises a captivating experience for all ages. Immerse yourself in the electrifying energy of traditional music and dance performances. Savor the exotic flavors of authentic Dagara cuisine and explore the intricate beauty of Dagara crafts. Participate in interactive workshops and demonstrations, gaining a deeper understanding of the culture. Immerse yourself in exhibitions and installations that bring the Dagara story to life. Network with local businesses and organizations, forging connections and fostering opportunities.

Who Should Attend?

DACUFEST welcomes everyone! Whether you’re a local resident, a cultural enthusiast, a tourist seeking an authentic adventure, or a family looking for a unique experience, DACUFEST has something for you. Young professionals will find a platform for cultural immersion and networking.
