S/R Referendum: West Gonja District Assembly Bars Shops From Opening on D-day

Damongo, Ghana – The District Chief Executive for West Gonja, Saeed Jibril, has ordered the closure of all shops on 27th December 2018.

In a letter to all shop owners in the district, the DCE said, he saw this very necessary since voting for the creation of the new Savanna Region will be done on this day.

The method and means of preventing the shops from operating is however not stated in the letter.

Massive education is ongoing in the proposed Savannah Region areas with a massive voter turnout expected across the various polling centers.
