Buipe, Ghana – A woman believed to be in her late 30’s has been found dead at Borowase, a suburb of Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the newly created Savannah Region in the early hours of Tuesday under bizarre circumstance.
The deceased who was identified as Abena, worked with a popular restaurant called Sankwan inside Buipe.
She is believed to be a native of Sunyani in the Brong Region.
A lady friend of Abena who pleaded anonymity told this reporter that she lived with her until her sudden death.
According to her, she and the deceased closed from work on Monday night and went home to sleep.
The lady said the deceased later received a call and left the room and never returned.
The deceased, according to the co-worker, usually wake up early every morning to report to work before her colleagues.
She therefore thought the deceased as usual went to the restaurant when she received the call only for her to go to work this morning to hear of the bad news.
She said she was called by a guy to come to Borowase and identify a body. She went and to her surprise, the body was her roommate.
Many are still in shock and wondering what might have killed Abena.
Meanwhile, the Buipe police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Abena.
