Tatale, Ghana – Ubore Nambu Jacobki IV, chief of Kuyuli in the Tatale Traditional Area of the Northern Region, has strongly refuted allegations of notorious smuggling among his people by officers of the Ghana Immigration Service.
Ubore Nambu Jacobki said a press release issued by the GIS on 22nd June, 2020 following the death of two of its officers alleged that the people of Kuyuli were noted for “their notoriety in smuggling activities”
While expressing his condolences to the GIS for their loss, he also described their statement to the media as “unfortunate and untrue” and urged officers to immediately render an unqualified apology to him and the people of Kuyuli.
In an official letter dated 23rd June, 2020 which seeks to respond to the GIS earlier statement on the death of its officers, Ubore Nambu Jacobki said the former failed to conduct thorough investigations into the smuggling activities in order to establish the real perpetrators.
“It is however noted with deep regret that, your outfit without conducting any thorough investigations will conclude and describe the good people of Kuyuli in the Tatale/Sangule District as being noted for “their notoriety in smuggling activities” in your statement to the press. This description of Kuyuli people by your outfit is unfortunate and untrue.
“I want to put on record that, my people are peace loving, accommodating, well cultured, very responsible, law abiding and very hospitable and anyone who knows or have ever worked in Tatale/Sangule District will attest to this fact. We have lived peacefully with the Ghana Immigration Service personnel since the establishment of the Post at Natchamba No. 1. Majority of GIS officers are being or have been accommodated by my people. We live together and built a relationship that can be described as very cordial.”

Yes it is true with all what the traditional Chief said. The people of Tatale sometimes risk their own lives to support GIS concerning any investigations. E.g.2015. Broad day light army robbery around 3:00. On Sunday and other e.g.
